Hoot
Journal
3 yrs 1 mo ago
Looks like HOOT was really a hoot! It was filmed in Boca Grande and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, between July 6th and September 2nd, 2005. HOOT was produced by Jimmy Buffett (yes, the musician) and Frank Marshall (who produced Seabiscuit). Wil Shriner was directing the film. Luke Wilson plays Officer Delinko, and Logan Lerman and Brie Larson play Roy and Beatrice. Clark Gregg ("In Good Company"), Tim Blake Nelson ("O Brother Where Art Thou") and Robert Wagner (Austin Powers movies, among many others) have roles in the movie. Added bonus is that Jimmy Buffett was contributing original music. The studios are Walden and New Line. HOOT was listed by Walden as being in theaters on April 7, 2006.

Ponce de Leon Lighthouse
Photo

This lighthouse is my favorite, the tallest in Florida. It's just south of Daytona Beach Florida, and we climbed all the way to the top. Going up the spiral staircase inside (193 steps) isn't too bad, but coming down can be a bit scary. I'll still do it again.

St. Augustine - Castillo de San Marcos

This is just one of the large cannons at the Castillo. I had never been in a real fort before, and got to play like I was firing the cannons at the pirate ships (sailboats) that passed by. Dad and I really enjoyed it here.

Looking straight up inside the lighthouse, its 193 steps up the spiral staircase to the top, and we did it. Going up wasn't too bad, but coming down was a bit scary. This lighthouse is my favorite. It's just south of Daytona Beach, Florida.
