What if...?
Students from across the U.S. compete to replace the Google logo for a day as part of the Doodle 4 Google art competition. This is a competition where Google invited K-12 students to reinvent Google's homepage logo. This year they asked U.S. kids to doodle around the theme "What if...?"
I was too late to enter this year, and my school didn't participate... but I'll be there next year for sure!
The entries are in, and they are impressive. Google received thousands of wonderful doodles, and choosing 40 finalists for the public vote had to be one of the most difficult but enjoyable jobs at Google in the past few weeks.

A: Doodle 4 Google is a competition open to K-12 students of registered U.S. schools to create their own Google doodle inspired by the theme, "What If...?"

A: At Google, we like to dream big, and we can't think of anything more important than asking students to do the same. We ask ourselves that same question – what if? – everyday, as we build our products, so it seemed like an intriguing and appropriate launching point to encourage students to explore their creativity.

My Observations

I heard at one point that Miley Cyrus, AKA Hannah Montana, was going emo. Then again I heard this from TMZ.



If you get your "news" from TMZ, if you ask me, you need to find a new news source. Why you might ask?

TMZ gets their "news" right from the celebrities, which of course means that they can make up the stories, true or not!
  Most of the time when TMZ asks the celebrities the questions, the celebs are far beyond sober and/or getting out of rehab.

So the next time you see TMZ on, tell yourself to find real news.
 
 

A Japanese gameshow where contestants have to pass through unusual shapes in a moving wall. This is just one of the many funny episodes.

This was confusing, as I had already received a very cool watch that I had really wanted, and thought that it had been my big present.

But then Dad told me to open an unwrapped cardboard box from Amazon.com, and he pulled out his camera. There was one more thing that I had really wanted, but didn't want to be greedy.

Do you remember the movie "A Christmas Story" where Ralphie's dad told him to check behind the couch for another present?

I got it - the camera that I really wanted!
It's a FujiFilm FinePix S700 with 7 megapixels, a 10x optical zoom, image stabilization, manual controls, a 2.5 inch viewfinder and a whole bunch more features. And I couldn't wait to use it!

This is an ornament in our garden out back. In the spring, summer or fall it would be surrounded by plants and flowers, but now in the winter It's the most colorful thing in our garden.

This is the very first photo taken with the new FujiFilm FinePix S700 digital camera that I got from Dad as my big Christmas present this year. I just had to get out and shoot anything that I saw!
